The DCI has summoned former Lang’ata MP contender Stanley Livondo over contentious remarks about a suspected assassination attempt on President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The lawmaker is due to report to the DCI Headquarters on Kiambu Road at 2 p.m.
Speaking during the Homecoming ceremony of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Saturday, Livondo claimed there has been two attempts on Uhuru’s life.

According to the vocal politician, a senior government official tried to bring down two aircraft on which the head of state was aboard.
When the president learnt of the unnamed government official’s ploys, Livondo disclosed, he cut ties with them.
The politician claimed that the first instance was when President Kenyatta was flying from Kisumu to Nairobi and the second one was when he was headed to the United States through Dubai.

“If your friend who is so close to you like a brother attempts to crash a plane that you are on board more than twice, will you forgive him? In the first instance, President Uhuru was flying from Kisumu to Nairobi while on the second attempt he was headed to the United States through Dubai. The plane was forced to divert to Kenya because of the botched attempt to crash his plane,” he said.
On Sunday, Kuria said he had requested DCI director George Kinoti to apprehend the former aspirant over the “reckless” remarks.
In a social media post, the Chama cha Kazi (CCK) party leader said that even though he was not responsible for what others said during his homecoming ceremony, he had to take responsibility.
“As the convener of the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Thika, I may not be responsible for what speakers said but it was my meeting and I have to take responsibility. I have today requested @DCI_Kenya boss George Kinoti to arrest Stanley Livondo following his reckless statement,” wrote Kuria.
