Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai says he will back President William Ruto in 2027.
Speaking during the official opening of the Turkana Cultural and Tourism Festival ‘Tobonglore’ in Lodwar town, the governor who was elected on an ODM party ticket, also vowed to bring on board six sub-counties to the government side by 2027.
“I want to assure you that I will deliver the Turkana vote basket to you. There is no bargain about that. I will deliver for you the six sub-counties,” said the county boss.

Lomorukai also said he will henceforth work with Dr Ruto for the good of his people.
At the same time, the county chief alleged threats from his party but asserted that he would not rescind his decision to work with the ruling regime.
“I am elected by Turkana County people. Those who are making threats that the Turkana Governor is working with the President, who told them that is a crime?” he wondered.

“I will work with you now and in the future.”
Weighing in on the presidential term limit extension debate, Lomorukai said Dr Ruto should rule for 14 years.
Last month, the Raila Odinga-led party expelled five lawmakers for associating with the ruling regime.
The affected members are MPs Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Felix Odiwuor ‘Jalang’o’ (Lang’ata), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
