Singer Rufftone Eyes Nairobi Senatorial Seat

Singer Roy Smith Mwatia alias Rufftone has joined the Nairobi senatorial seat contest.

Rufftone told the Nation that he is contesting for the parliamentary seat so as to mentor the younger generation “through quality and visionary leadership”.

Also joining the race was ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna who announced his bid last week.

The latest entrant is Nairobi businessman and politician George Kamano.

Earlier reports indicated that Mr Kamano would be running for the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat currently held by Nixon Korir.

“It is important we put the city into the hands of those who have skills and understanding of what needs to be done to get us there through coming up with appropriate legislations. That person is me,” said Mr Kamano.

“My vision and a dream to change Nairobi and position it as a global leader that attracts investors from all around the globe.”

In 2017, Mr Kamano contested for the Nairobi West Ward seat on Jubilee Party ticket.

He has indicated that he will yet again seek to serve the people as senator on a Jubilee ticket.
