Queen Elizabeth II Under Medical Supervision Amid Health Concerns

Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision because her doctors are “concerned for Her Majesty’s health”, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday.

Her family is set to travel to be with the 96-year-old monarch in Scotland.

“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” the palace said.

It also stated that the Queen was “comfortable”.

Prince Charles has already travelled to Balmoral with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Duke of York and the Count and Countess of Wessex were on their way to the Scottish estate.

The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, was already in Scotland undertaking engagements and is in Balmoral.

The Duke of Cambridge is also on his way, with the Duchess of Cambridge staying behind with their children.

A spokesperson for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, said they were on their way to Balmoral.

They were due to attend a charity event in London.

Barriers are being placed outside one of the entrances to the estate.

The announcement comes a day after the queen was instructed to take a day off and canceled a Privy Council meeting.

At her vacation home in Scotland, Balmoral Castle, she oversaw the formal transfer of authority to new Prime Minister Liz Truss on Tuesday.

Truss said “the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.”

“My thoughts — and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom — are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time,” she said on Twitter.
