Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has unveiled a list of cabinet nominees that will soon be vetted by the Members of the County Assembly.
On Wednesday, Sakaja stated that, assuming the 19 nominees are approved by the assembly, they will take office in the middle of the next month.
“We have, following continued consultations with the people of Nairobi, set out our priority areas to get Nairobi moving. We shall do this by creating an environment that promotes citizen engagement, and makes it easy for you to access services,” said Sakaja.
“Today, we introduce the nominees for County Executive Committee Members for Nairobi City County Government. This team of men and women have been carefully selected to meet the challenge of the responsibility before them.”

Sakaja proposed Charles Kerich as Finance and Economic Affairs CEC while Michael Gumbo will be the CEC in charge of the Innovation and Digital Economy docket.
Brian Mulama and Patrick Mbogo have been proposed for the Talent and Skills Development and Mobility and Works CEC positions. respectively.
Stephen Gathuita Mwangi and Ibrahim Auma Nyanganya will head the Urban Planning and Boroughs Administration and Personnel dockets, respectively upon approval.
Rosemary Kariuki has been proposed to lead the Business and Hustler Opportunities docket.

According to Sakaja, Nyanganya and Kariuki will be answerable to his deputy, Njoroge Muchiri.
Other nominees include; Maureen Njeri (Green Nairobi), Dr Anastacia Mutethya Nyalita (Health, Wellness and Nutrition) and Suzanne Silantoi (Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service).
Dr Jairus Musumba will upon approval be the County Secretary, David Njoroge (Chief of Staff), Lawrence Wambua (Economic Affairs Advisor), Elias Mutuma (Legal Advisor), Dr. Samora Otieno (Health Advisor) and William Ndung’u (Political Advisor).
Others are; Prof Washington Yotto Ochieng (Mobility Advisor), John Mwangi Maina (Urban and Regional Planning) and Priscilla Mahinda (Private Secretary).
