President Ruto Holds Talks with 32 Jubilee MPs

President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, are currently meeting 32 Jubilee MPs at the State House.

This comes a day after the two UDA leaders met with at least 10 lawmakers drawn from opposition party, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The Tuesday morning meeting caused a storm on social media and within the Raila Odinga-led party.

The Orange party referred to the lawmakers as “self-centered” individuals looking to further personal agenda.

“Three months ago, the Azimio la Umoja leadership began rallies to push for the reclamation of its victory from the hands of the illegitimate administration in order to provide the leadership Kenyans want, but all along, we knew the enemy will not sit pretty,” said ODM communications director Phillip Etale.

He added, “They have started spending stolen money to hoodwink some of our leaders with the aim of trying to scuttle our activities. Such meetings are aimed at diverting the attention of Kenyans from issues they are faced with, ranging from the high cost of living, unbearable school fees for their children, and corruption.”

The lawmakers present included; Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East, Independent) Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo), John Owino (Awendo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.

The President on January 23 held a meeting with a number of Jubilee party lawmakers where the agenda was development.
