Jalang’o was among the ODM MPs and senators who met with President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, on Tuesday at State House.

The lawmakers were chided by the orange party, referring to them as “self-centered” and looking to undermine the party leader, Raila Odinga.

On the same day, National Assembly minority leader Opiyo Wandayi called for a must-attend meeting.

On Wednesday, the comedian-turned-politician told a local radio station that he would have still met with the head of state with or without his party leader’s go-ahead.

He, however, clarified that Raila had allowed him to meet with the government if development was the agenda.

“Raila has already given us a go-ahead on matters development, every party member has a key to discuss development, if I had to call him again in regards to State House call and he said no, I would still have gone,” he said.

“If I receive a call, I will of course ask the agenda of the meeting, if it’s development, I will go, if not, I won’t go.”
