Canada-based lawyer Miguna Miguna has been blocked from boarding a flight bound for Nairobi, Kenya.
Miguna was supposed to land in Kenya on Tuesday.
Taking to Twitter, however, the exiled lawyer indicated that the Kenyan government issued a Red Alert on Monday morning.
“Berlin Brandenburg International Airport. Being refused boarding on flight AF 836 @airfrance due to Red Alerts received from Despot Uhuru Kenyatta’s @StateHouseKenya this morning. They fear me because they are extremely weak and unpopular. I’ll keep you updated,” wrote Miguna.
He also noted that while Air France did not give him the reason for issuing him with a denied boarding certificate, the cause was listed as “other reason”.
“Here is the document @airfrance has given me. They have refused to state “Red Alert.” But they have indicated that it is obvious and they empathize with me but that there is nothing they can do. Let our legal team get to work. Thanks everyone for the support. Aluta Continua,” he added.
Miguna who has been in exile since 2018 after the swearing in of Raila Odinga as the “people’s president”, was supposed to be accompanied back into the country by former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi.
