President Uhuru Kenyatta is the Azimio’s Coalition Council chairman, while Raila Odinga is the Party leader and a member of the Coalition Council.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi of Kanu, Ali Hassan Joho, Sabina Chege, Naomi Shaban, Martha Karua, Charity Ngilu, Wafula Wamunyinyi, and Abdi Noor Omar are members of the Coalition Council.

Earlier on in the week, One Kenya Alliance (OKA) had sought to halt the coalition registration process.

The issue of the running mate was one of the three issues that the OKA team wanted addressed before the coalition was formally registered.

“Our objection is premised on fact that three (3) issues have not been agreed upon and are to be deliberated and agreed upon before the Agreement is fully registered,” OKA said.

The OKA team claimed that Kalonzo has exclusive rights to the running mate position, and were concerned that they may lose it if the existing arrangements continue.

The OKA team also alleged that a new coalition agreement had been filed with the Registrar of Parties, which they believed may imperil their interests in the organization.

At the same time, OKA claimed that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance was the result of collaboration amongst three major parties: ODM, Jubilee, and Wiper.

They said that the coalition’s adoption of a fourth pillar meant that the previous agreement had been abandoned, putting their interests in danger.
