DP Ruto’s Aide Decamps to DAP-K as Kenya Kwanza Claims Party an Extension of ODM

Special Secretary for Infrastructure, Energy and ICT at the Office of the Deputy President William Ruto, Maurice Kakai Bisau has ditched the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Bisau dumped the DP Ruto-led outfit for the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).

He was welcomed by Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi among others.

Bisau who was previously eyeing the Trans Nzoia Governor seat on a UDA ticket has since set aside his ambition in support of former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya.

Natembeya will be vying for the county’s top seat on a DAP-K ticket.

“He was DP Ruto’s Special Secretary for infrastructure and will be supporting George Natembeya candidature unconditionally,” Wamalwa said.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Kwanza alliance continued its onslaught on DAP-K.

Dr Ruto claimed the party was an extension of the Raila Odinga-led ODM party.

Speaking in Tongaren, the deputy president said the party was formed in an attempt to split the Luhya vote.

Dr Ruto hit out at CS Wamalwa saying he was incapable of forming a party.

“Kuna watu wachache wanatumiwa kututengenisha, wametengenezwa chama,”  the second-in-command said. 

“Ni chama ya ukora hiyo ni ODM wakuje Na ODM we face with them mundu khu mundu. Eugene na Eseli wanaweza kutegeneza chama kweli?” he posed.

Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula claimed those who caused drama within his party ran for shelter in the Wamunyinyi-led party.

“Chama chetu cha Ford-Kenya kimeyumbishwa, saa hii they are running helter skelter,” Wetangula said. 

“Walivuruga chama sasa wamehama na tunawaambia tutakutana, Hatutakubali mambo ya Raila tena, tumechoka ametudanganya ya kutosha DAP-K is ODM B.”

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi also trained his guns on Wamalwa saying that in 2013 he was approached by President Uhuru Kenyatta with an offer to join the government, but instead, asked the Head of State to give the available slot to Wamalwa.

“Eugene Wamalwa anatembea akisema yeye ni patron wa DAP-K lakini kama anaamini Mungu aje akane kwamba President Uhuru alitupea nafasi tuwe katika serikali yake. Nilimwachia Eugene kwasababu nilitaka kubaki independent,” Mudavadi said. 

A tough talking Mudavadi also alleged that Uhuru was seeking to extend his term in office by handpicking a team he could control.

“Azimio ni project, patron wa Azimio ni Uhuru Kenyatta, na project ingine ni Raila, na sasa wanataka wateue ule atakuwa deputy wa Raila, na Uhuru yeye abaki pale kama patron,” Mudavadi told the crowd.

“Yaani atafanya remote control azidi kuongoza serikali na wale vibaraka wamekaa pale hawajui nini inaendelea.”
