Emuhaya MP Milemba Named ANC Secretary General

Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba has been named the new secretary general for Amani National Congress party.

Milemba takes over from Simon Gikuru, who was named CAS in the Ministry of Information, Communications, and Digital Economy.

The legislator praised the ANC leadership for having faith in him as a leader.

The Emuhaya MP stated that his first priority would be to reform the party.

“We shall undertake the revamping of the party beginning tomorrow. We shall be meeting all organs of the party in their totalness and after that move to meet the branch leaderships around the country through a caravan (sic),” Milemba said.

Additionally, he denied rumors that the ANC party and Kenya Kwanza were working on a merger plan. The lawmaker stressed that although the party would operate under the auspices of the coalition in power, it would continue to be autonomous.

“As I come to take charge as secretary of the party, two things have come out clearly from our meeting, which need to be highlighted; One, the party will remain an independent operating all its institutions within the larger coalition of Kenya Kwanza,” Milemba said.

Vihiga county MP Beatrice Adagala has been serving as the Secretary-General in an acting capacity.
