Full List: President Ruto Names Cabinet

President William Ruto has named his cabinet.

In his address on Tuesday, the head of state named former Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki as the Interior CS.

Kindiki will takeover from CS Fred Matiang’i.

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi is the new prime cabinet secretary. Eliud Owalo will take over the ICT docket, Davis Chirchir (Energy), Sports will be under Ababu Namwamba, Agriculture and Livestock department will be under Mithika Linturi.

Kipchumba Murkomen is the new Transport CS, Aisha Jumwa (Public Service), the Defence ministry will be under Aden Duale, Alice Wahome will be the CS for Water while Moses Kuria will take over the Trade docket.

Former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is the new Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs CS.

Treasury will be headed by former CBK governor Prof Njuguna Ndung’u, Lands docket will be headed by Zachariah Mwangi Njeru, and Health by Susan Nakhumicha Wafula.

East African Community Ministry will be headed by KenGen MD Rebecca Miano, whose contract expires in August 2023.

The President appointed Soipan Tuya as CS for Environment and Forestry, Ms Peninah Malonza as CS for Tourism ministry, Ezekiel Machogu will take over from Prof George Magoha as the Education CS and Cooperatives will be headed by Simon Chelugui.

The Mining ministry will be headed by Salim Mvurya while the Labour ministry will be headed by Ms Florence Bore. 

However, Dr Ruto retained outgoing Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum of Kenya, Ms Monica Juma, as the National security advisor. 

Former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi was named the Attorney General while Mercy Wanjau has been appointed secretary to the cabinet. 

Harriet Chigai was named the advisor on Women Rights agency.
