IEBC System was Compromised – Raila’s Chief Agent Alleges

The IEBC system, according to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance, was compromised.

Saitabao Ole Kanchory, the chief agent for Raila Odinga, said to the media that this was the cause for his statement that Bomas was a “crime scene” prior to the declaration of the presidential results.

“We have intelligence reports that their system was penetrated and hacked and that some IEBC officials committed electoral offences and some of them ought to have been arrested,” he said.

Kanchory alleged that they had attempted to contact Wafula Chebukati, chairperson of the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC), but in vain.

He further asserted that despite offering to give political party representatives Forms 34C, Chebukati was delaying meeting with them.

“The agents had been assured to be supplied with Form 34C which bears the result of that election. But the chairman has been avoiding us all day…He has deliberately held himself incommunicado,” he alleged.

Kanchory added that they had grounds to think the just concluded election was fraudulent and lacking in integrity.

Some supporters of Azimio, including MPs and senators-elect, began leaving Bomas at around 5 o’clock.

Additionally, a few ambassadors and observers fled the national tallying center. The Kenya Kwanza side then broke out into song and dance.

The declaration of the presidential election was postponed from 3 pm to 4 pm.
