Lang’ata MP Candidate Jalang’o Offers To Reinstate Ex-Staffers Who Stole From Him

Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Langata parliamentary candidate, has promised to reinstate two of his employees who stole an unspecified amount of money last week, if they surrender.

The ODM party candidate revealed during an interview on Milele FM on Friday, that he lost over Ksh1 million in the incident, with unsubstantiated sources placing the figure at Ksh10 million.

He claimed that he had known the two workers for a long time and that stealing from him was not in their nature.

“I want them to come forward. They will continue with their work. Let them just come back because it was not in their character,” said the comedian.

The staff gained access to the car after the former Kiss FM host offered the keys to one his children to pick up school supplies from the boot.

“I had a late meeting in the evening, so I took the small car – usually used to take the kids to school and left the money in there. In the morning, one of the kids came to ask for the keys to pick up something from the boot.

“At that moment Eli and Litiema had arrived and were doing some cleaning. It was at that moment that they took the money and left. I did not realise that they had stolen the money for almost three hours until we realised that they were not around,” Jalang’o elucidated.

He extended his sympathy to the duo’s families, saying that the occurrence had ruined their lives because one of them had a newborn baby.

He, on the other hand, claimed that the two had deceived him and that he had treated them as brothers.

He admitted that he had assisted them in signing business agreements with various companies, warning them that their actions would have a negative impact on their careers.

“They have betrayed our brotherhood. I have never treated them as workers but as brothers. Now they are on the run with their families. One of them just had a baby recently, now you can imagine what they are going through.

“They have social media pages we had opened together and they cannot post anything there because of what they did. It was above Ksh1 million.”

Last week, Jalas offered a Sh100,000 cash reward to whoever had information that could lead to their arrest.

“They stole money from the car they were washing at home, their phones are off and they are running with their families. If you see them, please contact me or report at the nearest police station,” he wrote on social media.

“A reward of Ksh100,000 for any information leading to their arrest.”
