Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will now be on the ballot after he ditched Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party.
The former vice president on Monday said he will be deputized by Andrew Leteipa Sunkuli should he clinch the presidency in August.
Kalonzo also went severed ties with Azimio la Umoja. He wished the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua well.
“We have agreed to go separate ways with Azimio La Umoja, and compare notes as we do so. I wish Raila Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua well,” he said.
“I declared in Jacaranda Grounds my support for Mr Odinga for the third time. But since then a lot of things have happened,” he added.
He revealed that he, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila were in talks over the already assigned post but the latter had the last word.

He (Raila) apparently attempted to convince Kalonzo to accept Karua’s nomination.
“If there is no faith, you can’t do business… For how long will we sacrifice and even of we sacrifice, they mess up,” said the former vice president.
Kanu leader Gideon Moi arrived at KICC at 11:12 a.m. on Monday for the Azimio running mate unveiling event, only to leave an hour later. He was later spotted at the SKM Command Centre in Karen alongside Kalonzo.
Kalonzo had been proposed as Raila’s running partner by Moi, but subsequent complaints by Wiper leaders, including threats to leave the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party, signaled things were not well in the Wiper camp.

Last night, the Wiper party sent out invites to its legislators for a morning meeting at the SKM Command Centre.
“You are invited by our party leader His Excellency Hon Kalonzo Musyoka to the SKM command center today morning 16th May, 2022 at 11am for an extremely important announcement. Please purpose to come,” the invite sent by Robert Mbui, Wipers National Organizing Secretary read in part.
Meanwhile, Raila has appointed Kalonzo as the Cabinet Chief Minister.
