Gospel Singer Loise Kim Joins Kiambu Woman Rep Race

Renowned Kikuyu Gospel artiste Loise Kim has joined the race to succeed Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wamuchomba.

The race has attracted at least six candidates all clamoring to unseat the controversial lawmaker who is eyeing the Githunguri Parliamentary seat currently held by Gabriel Kago.

Speaking to People Daily, the crooner said the drive to better the lives of the people of Kiambu including the youth and women has prompted her to join the murky world of politics.

“I have been doing charity work helping mothers, youths and persons with abilities. I can do wonders in Kiambu using my gospel name and the honourable title. We have a responsibility of bettering the lives of our people and I want to be counted in the process,” she said.

Also said to be eyeing the seat are Kiambu deputy governor Joyce Ngugi and motivational speaker Ann Wamuratha.

Wamuratha who is a regular on Inooro TV and FM said the people have been encouraging her to run for the seat but is yet to make up her mind.

“It’s true people have been encouraging me and have even gone further to flicker the news online. I’m giving it a thought and in due course, I’ll make the announcement,” she said.

Other hopefuls include; Emma Wangari alias Mama Mwiko, Mary Kirika, Njeri Bakari and former Kiambu TNA coordinator Gladys Chania.

This year’s general elections has attracted media personalities and artistes including Smith Mwatia alias Rufftone who is eyeing the Nairobi senatorial seat, Jalang’o for Lang’ata MP, Jamal Gaddafi for Nyali MP, and Karen Nyamu for Nairobi Senator among others.
