ODM Removed Me From WhatsApp Groups – Jalang’o

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, also known as Jalang’o claims that as a result of his close collaboration with President William Ruto, he has been reduced to an “orphan” or a stranger within the ODM Party.

According to Jalang’o, who describes himself as a devoted supporter of the Raila Odinga-led Orange Party, he is currently blocked from all ODM communication channels, including WhatsApp groups, and is therefore unaware of party activities.

The Lang’ata MP admitted in an interview with NTV that he only learns about the party through rumours.

“Sasa hivi nimetolewa kwa communications zote za chama. So hata kama kuna chochote chama inataka tu support, siwezi jua. Labda upate kuskia kupitia fununu pale bungeni… Ni wakati mgumu kwa maana upo tu kama yatima pale,” he said.

The Lang’ata MP further stated that despite his detractors’ assertions that his acts amount to political suicide and will make him a one-term legislator, he has no regrets and will not back out of working with President Ruto.

“…ilipofika kotini na wale majaji wasaba wote wakasema rais ni William Ruto na baadaye nikaanza kuona maono yake na mambo ambayo anajaribu kufanya, nikasema this is the direction I want to take, I want to work with the President na sitarudi nyuma,” said the former Kiss FM presenter.

The MP went on to say that despite his insistence that he respects Raila, he has not been allowed access to the opposition leader since their visit to State House on February 7.

“…Mimi ni kijana ya baba. Baba ananipenda sana. Nampenda na namheshimu. Lakini haya mambo ambayo yalitokea baada ya safari ya State House, hata kuja karibu nayeye imekuwa ngumu. Watu wanakuona kama msaliti. Hata security yangu tu, siezi songa karibu kwa sababu wengi wanaona kwamba umeharibu,” he added.

The MP maintained that he is not a traitor and declared that he will stay appreciative of the opportunity to serve as a member of parliament even if his political decision prevents him from being reelected in the elections of 2027.

Jalang’o also stated that the purported ODM rebels’ recent visits to State House will not have an impact on the opposition leader’s ability to control politics in the Nyanza region.

“Kujaribu na kuwa na dhana kuwa unaweza kumtoa Raila alivyo shikilia Nyanza ni ndoto ya mchana. Nyanza wanaskiza watu wawili tu… Mungu na Baba (Raila),” he said.
