Nominated MP David Sankok’s son has shot himself dead at his father’s home in Narok.

Memusi’s body was later retrieved from the house.

“The father was not home when the boy shot himself and it’s not clear how he accessed the firearm that should have been properly secured,” said a senior officer aware of the incident.

“He was 15 year old. He shot himself dead in his father’s home. We don’t know the motive,” said another officer.

It is claimed that the boy and his father have had a strained relationship over the former’s academic performance.

It is said that the boy left home earlier on in the week and only returned yesterday, the same day his father jetted back into the country.

Sources intimated that Memusi had refused to go back to school but had a chat with his father who talked him into going back on Tuesday.

His father is said to have left home for a meeting when the boy accessed his mother’s handbag where their bedroom keys were kept.

It is in the bedroom that he accessed the safe where his father keeps his gloak pistol.

“The MP then left the homestead, and went to his hotel nearby for a political meeting. At around 3pm, the boy accessed the mother’s hand bag, took the keys to the bedroom and the safe. After opening the safe, he took a gloak pistol,” said a source.

A preliminary report shows that the second born child shot himself through the chin. The bullet exited through the top of the head.

The unfortunate incident took place at around 3.30 pm.
