Sifuna, Passaris Emerge Victorious in Nairobi

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has been declared the duly elected Nairobi senator.

Sifuna garnered 716,876 votes beating UDA’s Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who got 554, 091 votes.

Nairobi County Returning Officer Albert Gogo Nguma issued Sifuna with a certificate amid jubilations at the Kasarani Stadium.

Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris also retained her seat after polling 698,929 votes.

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga of the UDA Party came second with 586,246 votes.

The “Adopt a light” ambassador in 2013, joined the race to become Nairobi’s first Woman Rep on a Kenya National Congress party ticket but came third with 291,384 votes behind the winner CAS Rachel Shebesh who got 632,646 votes.

In 2017, she beat Shebesh on an ODM party ticket.

She polled 109,310 votes against Shebesh’s 83,030.
