SportPesa CEO Karauri Wins Kasarani MP Seat

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri is the MP-elect for Kasarani constituency.

Captain Karauri vied as Independent candidate after his party of choice, Jubilee, handed the incumbent, Mercy Gakuya, a direct ticket.

Karauri polled 32,406 votes with his closest rival John Kamau (UDA) polling 30,444 and Mercy Gakuya (Jubilee) 24,790 votes.

Elsewhere, media personality Davidson Ngibuini, popularly known as DNG, has won the Woodley, Kenyatta Golf Course Ward seat.

DNG was vying under Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA party. He beat the incumbent MCA Mwangi Njihia of the Jubilee Party.

One of the P-unit group members, Gabriel Kagundu, also known as Gabu, was vying in Woodley for the same position as DNG.

After DNG won the seat, he conceded defeat.

Kevin Kioko, also known as Bahati, lost his bid to represent Mathare in parliament on a Jubilee Party ticket.

He was seeking to succeed the incumbent Anthony Oluoch of ODM.

However, the tallying is still ongoing with Oluoch and UDA’s Billian Ojiwa fighting for the seat.

Mary Njambi Koikai, a well-known radio host and reggae emcee, had her eye on the Dagoretti South parliamentary seat.

She conceded defeat before the official results could be made public by the electoral commission.

“I wish to congratulate the winner (yet to be announced) on their election and I wish them well in advancing the hopes of our constituents,” she said.

Popular musician Eko Dydda won the Mathare North Member of County Assembly seat.

Anita Sonia, a Kenyan environmental advocate, lost her bid to become Kajiado North MP.

“The answer is wait. Next time it may be yes. I take this chance to congratulate my opponent and good friend Onesmus Nguro Ngogoyo of UDA for being the MP-elect of our great constituency, Kajiado North,” she said.
