Wetangula Asked for Sh8 Million for Ford-Kenya Ticket – Noah Wekesa

Dr Noah Wekesa, a former member of parliament for Kwanza, has disclosed that Moses Wetangula, the head of FORD Kenya, requested eight million shillings from him in order to award him the party’s ticket.

According to Dr Wekesa, Wetangula demanded the money when he sought to vie for the Trans Nzoia governorship in 2013.

The Bungoma senator sent his father and brother to the senator’s home, the former minister of forestry claimed, but he disregarded their requests.

“The issue of 8 million I’m telling you is not a lie; go ask him, he sent his father and his brother Fred who demanded 8 million shillings from me but I refused,” Wekesa said.

Wekesa, a seasoned politician, stated that the revelation is not intended to discredit Wetangula but rather to raise awareness about the senator.

“I am not saying this spoils Wetangula’s name but saying who Wetangula is,” Wekesa added.

He also blasted Chris Wamalwa, a member of parliament for the Kiminini, by accusing him of insulting elders and other political figures who oppose his campaign for governor.

“That Chris Wamalwa has abused me an elder several times and I have got a bone to crack with him,” he continued.

Wekesa vowed to ensure that Wamalwa does not win the election on August 9 and take over as the county’s second governor.

“Using abuses is not the best way to ask for votes from voters. I will make sure he does not ascend the county’s top seat.

“Rather, I will ensure George Natembeya becomes the Governor,” he stated.

In 2019, Wekesa warned Wamalwa against early campaigns saying that it did not guarantee a win.

“In 2013, I had campaigned for three years but Governor Patrick Khaemba campaigned for three weeks and won against me,” he said.

Wamalwa was tasked by Wekesa to consult him for counsel if he truly intended to succeed Khaemba.

Wamalwa, however, informed him that the former minister lacked direction at the time.

Wamalwa claimed that in contrast to Wekesa, who lacked a plan, he has a definite one in place.

“Yes, you campaigned for three years but you didn’t set your gears properly, right now I’m on gear two and by the time we finish the race I will be on gear five” Wamalwa told Wekesa.

Wamalwa said he does not fear his opponents and expressed optimism that he will win.
