1.2 Million Signatures Collected So Far – Raila

Since last Friday, 1.2 million signatures have been gathered, Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has said.

As part of his campaign to have the Kenya Kwanza administration pay attention to Kenyans, Raila said that the introduction of the digital platform to gather signatures online was a vital component.

“A total of 1.2 million signatures have been collected as of today,” Raila said at the Kalonzo Musyoka Command Centre.

Raila claimed that the actions are intended to pressure the Ruto administration to solve issues such as the hiring of electoral commissioners and an audit of the servers.

The former prime minister stated that Kenyans had the choice between manual and digital signing.

He issued a warning, saying those who question the validity of the signatures do not understand the power of the people when they come together.

“We don’t expect them to understand, they don’t understand the people’s power as of now, but with time they will understand,” Raila said.

Raila declared that the Wednesday march at Kamukunji would continue with “greater numbers until Ruto listens and respects Kenyans”.

He also threatened to hold state officers who violate the law by using excessive force to disperse peaceful protestors.

“There will be many Kamukunjis everywhere and anywhere,” Raila said.
