Tabitha Karanja Set To Leave Keroche to Concentrate On Nakuru Senatorial Bid

Tabitha Karanja, the CEO of Keroche Breweries, is planning to resign in order to run for Senate.

In her first foray into elective politics, the founder of the Naivasha-based brewer is seeking the Nakuru senatorial seat.

On Saturday, the renowned businesswoman announced in her office that she will be recruiting her successor from within the firm’s hierarchy.

“It now time to concentrate on my political ambition and leave the running of the company to another person,” she said.

Karanja told reporters in Naivasha that she had everything she needed to run for the Senate seat now held by Senator Susan Kihika.

“For months we have been involved in consultations with close friends and I feel it’s time I gave this seat a shot,” she said.

Investors have been locked out of the market or mistreated for years, she said, due to tough restrictions and unscrupulous business tactics.
