Bishop Wanjiru Out of Nairobi Gubernatorial Race, To Support Senator Sakaja

Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of the Jesus is Alive Ministry has announced her withdrawal from the race for Nairobi Governor.

Wanjiru announced her withdrawal from the campaign for Senator Johnson Sakaja, who will now run on the UDA party ticket, at a meeting held at Deputy President William Ruto’s Official Karen Residence on Saturday.

Wanjiru is presently pursuing the senate set.

“In a coalition, there come challenges. It comes a time when one must give and take. That is exactly what has taken place here,” Wanjiru said.

Sakaja praised Wanjiru for making the sacrifice that improved his chances of becoming the next city boss.

Given that they are now members of the same team, the second Nairobi senator also encouraged his supporters to vote for Bishop Wanjiru for the senate post.

“The most important thing now is to keep in mind that we are one team. I want to urge my supporters to now rally behind Bishop Wanjiru, who was sacrificed so much for us, and back her senate bid,” said Sakaja.

Karen Nyamu also dropped out of the Senate race and will now campaign for Bishop Wanjiru.

Nyamu, Gospel singer Smith Mwatia, aka Rufftone, and others who sacrificed their bid for her were praised by Wanjiru.

“Without you, I would not have found a space where I would say I am vying for senate seat.”

She also took the time to urge Nairobi people to support Dr Ruto, the presidential candidate of Kenya’s Kwanza Alliance.

Wanjiru is honored by the party for her magnanimity, sacrifice, and elegance, Dr Ruto said.

He also stated that Nairobi will be able to reclaim its former splendor because of this win-win attitude.

“Kenya Kwanza is elated that it will be fielding Johnson Sakaja as its Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate. Senator Sakaja is a leader who measures up to the challenges facing our City. Bishop Wanjiru defers her gubernatorial bid and will now go for the senate seat,” Ruto said.

Also present was ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula.
