16 Selected to Oversee Raila Regional Campaigns

Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate, has officially named the people who will oversee his regional campaigns.

The former Prime Minister and his running mate, Martha Karua, will oversee national campaigns, a document seen by this writer indicates.

MPs Junet Mohamed, Caleb Amisi, Mishi Mboko, Richard Onyonka, Opiyo Wandayi, Babu Owino, Philip Pande, and Maina Kamanda will be assisting them.

The national campaigns team will also include Peter Kenneth and Carol Karugu.

The Azimio team has divided the country into nine regions in order to increase its visibility across the country before the August 9 elections.

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege, and Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui will lead the Mt Kenya delegation.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa will lead the western Kenya team.

Stephen Tarus will lead the Rift Valley team, while Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana will lead the Ukambani team.

Governor Hassan Joho of Mombasa will oversee the Coast region, while Governor Joseph Ole Lenku of Kajiado will oversee the Maa region.

The Nairobi campaigns will be led by MP Tim Wanyonyi and Chief Administrative Secretary Rachel Shebesh, while the North Eastern campaigns will be led by CS Ukur Yatani and Feisal Abass.

Nyanza area campaigns will be led by Kisii Governor James Ongwae, ODM Chairman John Mbadi, and MP Simba Arati.

Other regional leaders, including sitting MPs, senators, governors, and women representatives, will help these leaders.

Women’s campaigns will be led by Governor Charity Ngilu, Gladys Wanga, and Rahab Muilu across the country.

The three will each head a group of women from the Azimio coalition and the Maendeleo ya Wanawake organization, including current and potential women leaders.
