Support Ruto’s Gov’t – Uhuru Tells KDF Officers

The Kenya Defend Forces (KDF) have been instructed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to support the incoming administration just as they did his.

Speaking on Friday at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Uhuru urged them to support the incoming administration with their allegiance.

“I salute every one of you for your dedication to duty. I ask you to remain steadfast in the incoming administration just like you have supported my administration and that of my predecessors,” he said.

He added: “I will miss you but we are still together.”

He also thanked the officers for their service in the security sector and national development. He stated that the officers were instrumental in his quest to fulfil the Big 4 Agenda.

“The military’s commitment has been priceless in my quest to fulfil the Big 4 Agenda, as they have been instrumental in the actualisation of several government projects, including the construction of military and police hospitals, where they offer specialised treatment to wananchi,” Uhuru said.

The president stated that throughout his tenure, he had championed gender equity and the empowerment of women.

He asserted that a large percentage of women were hired by his cabinet as chief administrative secretaries, principal secretaries, and cabinet secretaries.

The outgoing head of state said that his administration elevated several women to prominent positions in the disciplined forces.

Uhuru said in his scorecard report that he massively invested in security resources, greatly benefiting Kenyans.

“With that (investment in the security sector), we ensured our national safety through your (KDF) efforts. The geostrategic military installations across the country have greatly improved the security of, not only Kenya but also the East African region,” he said.

The president noted that poor management and inept leadership had forced him to appoint military leaders to government agencies.

On numerous occasions, Uhuru has acknowledged his love for the military and asked Kenyans to adopt their morality and discipline.

Uhuru referred to the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, Kenya Meat Commission, and Kenya Shipyards Limited as examples of the institutions that the KDF had altered in order to restore Nairobi to its former glory.

He also noted the effects on Kenyans of KDF’s engagement in important infrastructure projects, like as the restoration of the Nairobi-Nanyuki and Nakuru-Kisumu railways.

Uhuru declared that the National Defense University of Kenya will lead the academic conversation on security from a strategic perspective while defending Kenya’s interests at the national level.
