Poll Losers Kidero, Omanga, Waruguru Among 224 Shortlisted for CAS Post

President William Ruto’s government has continued to reward individuals who lost in the 2022 polls.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted 224 individuals for the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) post.

Making the list are former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero who lost Siaya gubernatorial election to Gladys Wanga and ex Knut secretary general Wilson Sossion who was kicked out of the Bomet senate race in the primaries.

Also on the list include former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, Dennitah Ghati (Migori), Caleb Kositany (former Soy MP), Chris Wamalwa (Former Kiminini MP), Charles Njagua alias Jaguar (Former Starehe MP), Nicholas Gumbo (former MP, Rarieda), and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

Former football star McDonald Mariga who lost in the Kibra Parliamentary race, former Kisumu senator Fredrick Outa, Kirinyaga governor aspirant Purity Wangui Ngirici and former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, ex-journalist Mwanaisha Chidzuga and former Deputy Governor of Makueni County, Adelina Mwau also made the list.

Also on the list are former Women Reps Catherine Waruguru, and Millicent Omanga have also made it to the shortlist.

Former State House Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, and former journalist Linda Ogutu made the list.

Others who have been shortlisted by the Public Service Commission include former governors Patrick Simiyu Khaemba (Trans Nzoia), James Ongwae (Kisii), Moses Lenolkulal (Samburu) and Samuel Tunai (Narok).

The publication of the names followed the conclusion of the shortlisting exercise pursuant to the provisions of Article 132(4)(a) of the Constitution and Section 30 of the Public Service Commission Act, 2017, said PSC.

The interviews will start on March 1, 2023 at the PSC offices, off Harambee Avenue Nairobi.

Candidates have been instructed to bring with them originals of their National Identity Cards, Academic and Professional certificates and transcripts and any other supporting documents and testimonials.

Other documents required are current and valid clearances from the following Kenya Revenue Authority; Higher Education Loans Board; a Registered Credit Reference Bureau; Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certifcate) and a Printed Online Self-declaration Application Acknowledgement Receipt or a Self-Declaration Form duly signed.
