They Stole My iPhone 14 in Parliament- Sabina Chege Claims

Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege claims her iPhone 14 was stolen during a scuffle in Parliament on Thursday.

Speaking during the inaugural coffee conference in Meru County on Friday, the deputy minority whip asked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to help her get her phone back.

“Apart from beating me, they proceeded to steal my phone. It is an iPhone 14, and your Excellency our DP Rigathi Gachagua, I request for your intervention and support so that I can recover the phone. Those who stole the phone, please hand it back to me,” Chege said.

Chaos erupted in the House after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula declined to eject Sabina from the position.

It is then that there was a stand-off between Azimio la Umoja and Kenya Kwanza Alliance members of parliament.

Speaker Wetangula was forced to adjourn proceedings for at least 15 minutes.

He then suspended Millie Odhiambo for two weeks, Rosa Buyu (two weeks), Chege (2 weeks), Fatuma Mnyazi (5 days), Catherine Omanyo (five days), Joyce Kamene (two sittings) and T.J Kajwang (two weeks).

“I am invoking Standing Order number 107 (3), to withdraw the members. The Standing Order allows the Speaker to suspend a member for a minimum of 5 days, or a maximum of 20 days,” ruled Wetangula.
