Leave Me Out – Alice Wahome Denies Involvement in Karen Home Debacle

Water CS Alice Wahome has distanced herself from the controversy surrounding the occupancy of a home in the posh Karen estate.

It comes in the wake of claims that a female Cabinet secretary and a male first-term Murang’a MP are at odds over a house, with the owner alleging the CS has already moved in without permission.

Many Kenyans have speculated on who the two people at the center of the dispute are as a result of the news making headlines and sparking discussions online.

The former Kandara MP has come forward to say that she is not the female CS involved in the debacle.

“That story of a house in Karen involving a CS, leave me out. I’m not the one. Sorry Kenyans on Twitter. You missed this one,” Wahome said on Twitter.

“Look for someone else. I’m not the one. I’m not looking for a house to live in.”

According to Mary Mureu, the home owner, the residence is listed for Sh120 million, but the CS had made an offer of Sh90 million.

Mureu said she was astonished to learn the CS had moved in without a written agreement or commitment to buy the house when she arrived home on Wednesday after a trip to the US.

“There is no agreement signed whatsoever, there’s no transaction that has taken place. This house still belongs to me and my husband,” she told Citizen TV.
