Azimio Protests are Post-election Violence – DP Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua reckons the weekly Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party protests are post-election violence.

According to the DP, the Supreme Court recognized the August elections, which the opposition believes were rigged, as open and democratically sound.

“The election was done, Supreme Court ruled and these people have brought violence. And these are not demonstrations anymore, these are post-election violence,” he said.

The DP supported President William Ruto’s position that Kenya will uphold the rule of law and that impunity will not control its political discourse.

The second-in-command was speaking during the Public Service Commission Launch of the Values and Principles Compliance Report 2021-2022 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, KICC.

The opposition honcho on Thursday accused the police of using excessive force during what he termed as “peaceful protests”.
