Azimio Submits Truck-full of Evidence Ahead of Presidential Petition Hearing at Supreme Court

The legal team for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance has arrived at the Milimani Law Courts to submit a petition contesting the victory of DP William Ruto.

The group arrived at Milimani Law Courts with a white truck loaded with paperwork. The team carried with it 39 boxes of evidence.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Siaya Governor-elect James Orengo, Nairobi Senator-elect Edwin Sifuna, and Nairobi Woman Rep-elect Esther Passaris were among the politicians at the court.

The legal team for Raila Odinga has already submitted an electronic copy of the presidential petition contesting the win of Dr Ruto.

One of the attorneys on the legal team, senator-elect Dan Maanzo, verified that the case had been submitted electronically to the Supreme Court on Monday morning.

“We have already filed the case online as required, our officers doing the paperwork will be at Milimani law courts anytime,” he told the Star.

“The papers will be brought to Milimani for stamping to show the time they were received.”

Raila was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua as the team submitted the evidence before the 2 P.M. deadline.

A voter identified as John Njoroge Kamau filed yet another petition at the apex court.

The petitioner listed IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, Ruto, his running mate Rigathi Gachagua and IEBC as respondents, respectively.

Raila, Karua and IEBC Commissioners; Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi, Professor Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu are listed as interested parties.
