Brace Yourselves, Raila Tells Competitors as Azimio Set to be Registered as a Coalition

Raila Odinga is set to register his Azimio la Umoja movement as a political outfit next week.

The Bill was signed into law by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday.

Raila said that after its registration it was all systems go for his presidential bid.

“I’m happy that you people have joined ODM which is a member of the new group we are forming; Azimio la Umoja… Azimio la Umoja is going to be registered next week if not tomorrow… and we will start moving. Mtaona mambo mengi ikifanyika,” he said.

The former Prime minister was speaking at the Chungwa House as he welcomed defectors to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

The AU envoy also laughed off a political alliance between deputy President William Ruto, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula of Ford-Kenya.

Raila dismissed the “Kenya Kwanza” coalition as “birds of the same feather” with nothing new to offer Kenyans.

“Wale wengine wanabwekabweka…. nani amekufunga wewe? Kama unataka kwenda, kwenda kabisa…kwenda kabisa. Wazungu wanasema ‘birds of the same feather flock together’, kuna kitu ambayo inaunganisha hawa watu pamoja… si nyinyi mnajua?” posed Odinga.

“Tutatembea pamoja na wale wako na sera kama sisi… Karibuni tena. Kenya hii itachemka. Acheni kutishwa na hawa watu. Hii ni taka taka.”

Raila told his competitors to brace themselves for the race of their lives starting next week.

Mudavadi and Wetangula ditched the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) for a chance to work with the DP.

The trio has since kicked off joint campaigns in Nakuru.
