Cate Waruguru Jumps Ship, Joins DP Ruto’s “Hustler Nation”

Laikipia Woman Rep Cate Waruguru has officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking on Saturday, Waruguru said she had held meetings with locals before making the decision to jump ship.

“From where I sit. My conversation with my generation, the generation of my fellow mothers and fathers. The generation of my grandfathers, tunalenga mbele na future kwa chama cha UDA,” Waruguru said.

The vocal politician noted that her decision was not informed by the party but by who is better placed to lead the country.

“The question is not about the party. The question is, in whose hands is Kenya be safe?” she posed.

She also urged the DP to visit the county where he apparently enjoys a huge following.

“Honourable William Ruto, I want to join the people of Laikipia Country, and particularly the people of Laikipia East to invite you once more in Laikipia. Hosted by the Lioness of Laikipia, Mama Simba Cate Waruguru, to come and meet your people,” she said, adding that the hustler movement is unstoppable.

Waruguru becomes the latest member of the ruling Jubilee Party to join DP Ruto’s camp.

Two weeks ago, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru joined the “hustler movement” after allegedly consulting with the electorate.
