Dennis Itumbi To Present Video Evidence on Alleged Abduction at DCI HQs

Digital media strategist Dennis Itumbi will not record a statement with the police over his alleged abduction in December 2021.

Speaking in Gichugu on Sunday, the deputy President William Ruto ally said recording a statement with the police is a waste of his time.

Itumbi believes his abduction on December 23 in Thindigua, Kimabu county was orchestrated by cops.

“DCI, why are you demanding a statement from me? You should investigate yourself because as far as this case is concerned you are the criminal! Therefore, you should investigate yourself,” he said.

He will, however, present video evidence at the DCI Headquarters along Kiambu Road on Tuesday. He will be accompanied by his supporters.

“I will not sit with you but will just present the video evidence to you which I will leave to you to do whatever you want with it. I know you will do nothing about it anyway, but as a law abiding citizen I will present the evidence that is in my possession,” added the blogger.

He also hit out at DCI boss George Kinoti and Inspector General Hilary Mutyambai for being used to settle political scores against law-abiding citizens.

“It was you who promised the nation that you would oversee a fruitful investigations of the mysterious murder of former AP officer Arnold Kenei. You even pulled a CCTV to show Kenyans how serious you were about the case. It has been years yet there is nothing to show for that case,” he said.

He also chastised the DCI for arresting him after he blew the whistle on the supposed DP Ruto murder plot rather than addressing the source of the alleged accusation.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s legacy will be tarnished, said the former State House digital strategist, if he fails to rise to the occasion and put an end to the heinous atrocities taking place under his watch.

He stated that despite supporting his presidential campaign and working with him for the most of his presidency, he will always hold him accountable for the alleged torture he received.

“Your government is responsible for breaking my hands and legs, and putting my loved ones into tears. Mr President we have done a lot together but I shall not forget that your legacy was to try to drive me to the edge. I’m a seed, I can not be buried, I can only germinate,” said the vocal DP ally.

Kenyans will not accept an imposed leader in the August 9 elections, said Itumbi, and will instead elect their favorite leaders.

Itumbi is rumoured to be eyeing the Gichugu MP seat.
