Raila Odinga, the leader of the ODM, has named Dennis Osaringo, a veteran journalist, to run his 2022 campaign communications secretariat.
Prior to the August 9 elections, he will be in charge of Raila’s presidential campaign communications.
Onsarigo will organize the media relations needs of Raila’s campaign secretariat, including media interaction and management, as well as liaison with coalition partners, according to a statement released on Sunday.
Onsarigo was the Director of Communications for the Taita Taveta County Government prior to his appointment.

He has worked as an investigations editor and manager for two news organizations, Nation and Standard Media Group.
Onsarigo has a BA in Communications and Political Science, a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism, and is working on a master’s degree in governance, peace, and security.
“Mr. Onsarigo is a professional, bringing journalism and media consulting experience spanning fourteen years to the table.
“He has worked with two leading media houses, Nation Media Group and the Standard Media Group as the Investigations editor/reporter and manager,” the ODM leader said.

“He is a holder of a BA – Communications & Political Science, a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism and currently pursuing a Master of Arts in governance, peace and security.”
His appointment comes just weeks after DP William Ruto named Hussein Mohamed, a former Citizen TV news caster, as his Communications Director.
“Hussein Mohamed, a renowned TV journalist, has been appointed Head of Communications in the William Ruto Presidential Campaign. Welcome to the Hustler team,” DP said.
After quitting Citizen TV, Hussein worked as a communications consultant with NGOs.
