Governor Joho’s Wife Madina Fazzini Files for Divorce

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s first wife has filed for divorce.

Madina Giovanni Fazzini has filed her case before the Mombasa Chief Kadhis Court after nine years of living apart.

Madina wants the union dissolved as she and the county boss separated in 2013.

“I am clear and unequivocal that our marriage has broken down irretrievably with no chance of revival given we have both moved on over the years,” says the petitioner in an affidavit.

According to Madina, Joho moved out of their matrimonial home in 2013, two years after they got married.

Court papers show that they exchanged vows on February 11, 2011 and had two children aged nine and eight.

“Since the respondent Joho moved out of our matrimonial home in June 2013, the substance of our marriage has dissipated and has no basis to be sustained from a legal and social standpoint,” she says.

Madina is of the opinion that there is no hope of reconciliation for her and Joho.

She also tells the court that she stayed at their matrimonial home until September 2020 but has since then been living on her own.

“At all material times relevant to this suit, the petitioner (Fazzini) and respondent (Joho) were and are still husband and wife having married under Islamic law on February 11, 2011,” continues the affidavit.

She also attached a marriage certificate and birth certificates of the two children she bore with Joho.

The outgoing governor has 14 days to respond to the suit.

Madina was born of an Italian father and Somali mother.

Joho has previously been linked to a number of female celebrities among them former TV girl Betty Kyallo and vlogger Natalie Tewa.

His relationship with Betty ended in a nasty fashion with the governor repossessing his Porsche Cayenne and house.

The vehicle, those who were privy to the goings-on said, was switched off in the middle of the road.

It was also rumoured that Betty and Joho started seeing each other while the former was still married to investigative journalist Dennis Okari.

Okari and Betty have since dissolved their union.

In Tewa’s case, she is said to have been the woman accompanying Joho on a trip to Dubai at the peak of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
