I Will Not Be Intimidated – Uhuru

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has slammed President William Ruto over attempts to “hijack” the Jubilee Party.

A section of Jubilee members have pledged allegiance to Dr Ruto.

But the former head of state said he will not be intimidated nor will he step down as party leader.

“Kuna wale ambo wanadhani kazi ya ni ya vitisho. Lakini sasa wajaribu mwingie, sio mimi,” he said.

Loosely translates to: “Some think their work is all about threats. I want to tell them to try others, not me.”

Uhuru also averred that his plan was to retire but recent events have forced him to stay put.

“My thoughts had told me to relax on politics and go attend to other duties. I thought that today At NDC I would have resigned and said that my time is up and elect other leaders (sic),” he said.

The former President also asked those looking to leave the party to do so in an honourable manner. He urged them to also vacate their positions.

On the theft at his Northlands Farm, Uhuru admonished those behind the incident.

He, however, cautioned the masterminds saying the Jubilee party was not his personal property hence could not be taken from him.

“Na yale yametokeza tu ni matusi, kuiba mbuzi, kuchoma mashamba yote wakifikiria wanatisha.Haya nawaambia waendelee. Lakini chama si ya Uhuru ina wenyewe,” he said.

Loosely translates to: “And all that has come out is abuse, stealing of sheep and burning of people’s farms thinking they can scare me. I want to tell them to continue but this party (Jubilee) is not Uhuru’s it has its owners.”

1,500 Dorper sheep were stolen at the expansive farm.
