Kiss FM Presenter Jalang’o To Leave Radio on February 9 for Politics

Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o will leave his radio job to pursue his political ambitions on February 9, 2020.

The Kiss FM breakfast show co-host made the revelation on his YouTube channel, Bonga na Jalas, on Tuesday.

Jalas, as he is popularly known, is eyeing the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat that is currently held by Nixon Korir.

“Tarehe tisa February ndio siku yangu ya mwisho, ndio nataka kuingia kwa kiwanja ya campaign,” he said.

“Niko serious kabisa, I don’t go for things that I can’t get, nimepiga research mbaya sana ndio uone nimeamua ni Lang’ata.”

Asked to consider vying for a seat in his home county of Homa Bay, Jalas said he was not well versed with the issues affecting the people back at home.

“Hawanijui huko (Homa Bay), halafu sasa unaendaje kusimama mahali ata hujui shida za watu?” he posed.

In September, the comedian cum emcee said he was planning to change his name to make easier for the electorate come August 9, 2022, when the polls will be held.

“I am changing my name to Jalang’o Jalang’o because that is the name that everybody knows juu ukienda kuuliza Phelix no one will know. The deed poll is already done and in the next few weeks I will show up with my new ID,” he told his co-host Kamene Goro.

Jalang’o has in the past noted that he will run on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
