Jubilee Tribunal Declares May 22 NDC Null and Void

A notification calling for the Jubilee party’s National Delegates Convention has been declared invalid by the Party Internal Dispute Resolution Tribunal.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta had called a meeting at the Ngong Racecourse on May 22.

According to the committee headed by Gideon Solonka, Uhuru broke the terms of the party constitution.

The committee claimed that Uhuru broke the law when he called a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on April 28, 2023 without quorum.

“The Respondent (Kenyatta) did not act in accordance with the Party constitution in publishing the notices convening the NEC meeting of 28th April 2023 and the SNDC of 22nd May 2023,” the committee stated on May 30.

“It follows that all the decisions passed in the above-stated NEC meeting were null and void. The Committee, therefore, finds that there was no decision of the NEC to summon a special NDC.”

The committee reached its conclusion after Nelson Dzuya, the party chairperson, complained about Uhuru’s notice.

Dzuya maintained that there was no quorum at Uhuru’s NEC when it decided to hold the special NDC on May 22.
