Governor Mandago Slams Sudi Over Remarks on Senatorial Bid

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago clashed with Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi over his 2022 political ambitions.

Mandago who is serving his second and final term is eyeing the senatorial seat come August 9, 2022.

But according to Sudi, the governor should concentrate on national politics and leave the senator’s seat to younger politicians.

“Mandago should now come out like other men and seek national votes. He needs to go and campaign in Western, Eastern or in Mombasa and leave this seat (senate) for young men,” said the legislator.

The first time MP said the county boss would make an exceptional CS for Agriculture.

Hitting back at Sudi, Mandago told him to concentrate on his role as a lawmaker.

“Some people are in parliament but can not even propose one law. He (Sudi) will not decide for me on what to do. Wacha upuzi, mimi ni moto wa kuotea mbali. Don’t try me,” he said to the amusement of the crowd.

Mandago told the electorate that he was the best fit for the senator seat owing to his “good” track record as a governor.
