Mt Kenya Leaders Supporting Raila Being Pressurized – Alice Wahome

Kandara MP Alice Wahome asserts that leaders from the Mt Kenya region backing ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid are being coerced.

The legislator told residents that the government is working tirelessly to impose Raila on the people.

“No amount of effort being put by the government that will make Odinga sellable in Mt Kenya region,” she stated.

The vocal politician told the electorate that the 10-year deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto was still in place.

“We are still holding on to the agreement made between the two back in 2013 and that is what we are pursuing to ensure the deputy president becomes the next president of this country,” she opined.

She also faulted the president for sidelining Dr Ruto after the infamous handshake with the AU envoy.

According to the lawmaker, the head of state handed over the government to Raila, overlooking his deputy.

Wahome maintained that those allied to the DP will not waiver even as they continue to be persecuted.

“Those of us who supports Ruto have been subjected to a lot of persecution but this is not going to make us change our political stand,” she said, adding that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) allied to the DP will form the next government.
