No Way Raila Beat Me – Ruto Responds to Whistleblower’s Report

President William Ruto has dismissed opposition chief Raila Odinga’s claims that he beat him in his home county of Uasin Gishu.

Responding to Raila’s claims on the alleged manipulation of the 2022 polls, the president said Kenyans are not foolish.

He said there was no way the former prime minister beat him as has been alleged by the “whistleblower”.

“Wajinga waliisha Kenya. There is simply no possibility that Raila beat Ruto in Uasin Gishu, Nyeri, Tharaka nithi, and Meru. Yet that is what the so-called whistleblower claims,” tweeted Dr Ruto.

The president was reacting to a report by Hornsby comparing the official IEBC results and those provided by the whistleblower.

According to the analyst, the information tabled by the anonymous IEBC official is “at least partially a gross fake and no credence should be given to its reported results. No politician should use this fake to justify or rationalize any action.”

“In more than 20 constituencies the alleged whistleblower report reverses the votes for Ruto and Raila in a way which simply makes no sense,” said Hornsby.

“For example, Buuri and Maara in the Meru counties: UDA won both seats in the MP contests, and Ruto won by huge margins in all the other Meru seats, but in these two the results have been switched.”

The analyst, however, notes that more than half of the whistleblower’s data matches that released by the electoral agency.

The opposition has insisted that their candidate won the elections with 8.1 million votes against the president’s 5.9 million votes.

As such, Raila wants Dr Ruto to resign as he did not win the polls.

The opposition is set to hold countrywide rallies calling for the rejection of government policies.
