ODM Rebels Should Resign – Ledama

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has urged ODM rebels to leave the party.

The Senator said in a statement on Wednesday that vacating their seats was the right move given that they were now working with the current regime.

“I wish they would just man up and resign from their positions and seek the people’s mandate through their newfound concubine,” he said.

The minority whip in the senate criticized the rebels for frequenting the State House.

“These constant State House visits by some ODM legislators who signed a covenant with the people through the party are so grotesque,” he added.

On Tuesday, President William Ruto hosted eight ODM lawmakers at the State House.

They included: Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Caroli Omondi (Suba South ), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Paul Abuor (Rongo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.

ICT CS Eliud Owalo and Interior PS Raymond Omollo were also in attendance.

The head of state said: “We will work with leaders across the country without reservation or discrimination, regardless of political affiliation, to deliver services to the people. This is what the Constitution demands and what all Kenyans deserve.”

Jalang’o said their resolve to support the government was not a stunt as he encouraged Kenyans to always pray for the President.

“Our resolve to work with HE william Ruto was not a gimmick! We will support the president and we must support the president! When the president loose we all loose! Ruto is Kenya 1! God bless the president and may we work together for our country! Always pray for the president!” he said.
