Prof Wajackoyah Pledges To Legalize Bhang If Elected President in August

As the General Elections draw closer, presidential candidates are slowly declaring their bids with incentives they feel will entice Kenyans.

Joining the race to the House on the hill is Professor George Wajackoyah who has promised to legalize bhang if he is elected as Kenya’s fifth president.

Wajackoyah claims that Kenya has failed to profit from the expanding marijuana trade because the crop has been stigmatized in most African countries since colonial masters labeled it as hazardous.

“The white settlers came here and said that bhang is bad but I don’t see any problem with it. I don’t smoke bhang personally but my son does and I can’t just disown him for that when others are over-indulging in illicit brews,” the lawyer told Channel 46.

Wajackoyah also believes that if marijuana growing is prioritized by the future government, it will significantly boost the country’s economy due to the plant’s therapeutic benefits.

“Bhang should also be grown here just like in America. Even in Jamaica bhang is cultivated and sold. Our job will be to grow it and sell it to those who use it. Such ventures will gain the country additional capital,” he said.

“Let us face reality. If we have the means to boost our economy let us do so. Bhang can make medicine, soaps, lotions and the seeds are a great source of plant-based proteins.”

Wajackoyah has also declared that he is prepared to deal with any perceived opposition to his proposal that may arise among the citizens.

“I will be the first president in Africa to legalise and export bhang, if they want to cast me out because of that it’s okay with me,” he said.

Also joining the crowded race is a Kenya Defence Forces soldier, Nixon Kukubo, who unsuccessfully ran for the country’s top seat in 2013.

Kukubo has warned Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto to expect a tough contest in the polls.

The 64-year-old, who will run for the presidency on a Tumaini Liberation Movement ticket, oozed confidence in his ability to be elected as Kenya’s 5th Head of State.

“I still believe I am the right person to be elected as the President of Kenya. Kenyans need to be liberated from current corrupt political leaders,” he said.
