Ruto No Longer Has Use for Gachagua – Kioni Claims

President William Ruto is done with his deputy and is using him to strike others, Jubilee Party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni has claimed.

Kioni acknowledged that deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s destiny has been sealed following Monday’s power transition.

In the former Ndaragwa MP’s view, the president no longer has use for his deputy hence the reassignment of roles as outlined in the first Executive Order of 2023.

“For Gachagua, the die is cast. William is done with you. If he had any respect for you, he would not be shifting you from one office to the other,” he said.

According to the former lawmaker, the head of state is using his deputy as a weapon as he has a loose mouth.

“He would not be using you as the cannon. Because your mouth is a loose cannon. Your mouth is the weapon to hit others,” he added.

Further, Kioni urged the former Mathira MP to disassociate himself with the Kikuyu community as the proverbial ship sinks.

As for Gachagua’s views on state capture, Kioni said legal institutions should be allowed to investigate those involved.

Gachagua on Sunday told Inooro TV that a plan was in the works to bring those who masterminded state capture to book.

Kioni maintained that the government’s vengeful approach is meant to further a political agenda.

“If it is really a criminal thing, then they should allow the institution or the agencies that have been set in the Constitution to perform their work,” he said.

“Anything else is weaponizing the same agencies. It is actually perfecting the state capture that they seem to have had a lecture on.”

Kioni also revealed that some administrative personnel from Mt Kenya region have been fired and others reassigned for working with the previous regime.

The SG regretted the action taken by the Kenya Kwanza government, noting that public employees were constitutionally required to work with the government of the day.

“To punish them today, is to tell the others that they should not also be serving the UDA government because come the next government, they will be punished,” he said.
