Deputy President William Ruto is re-inventing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) through the back door, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance has said.
Speaking on Thursday from Mombasa, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed accused the DP of dishing positions in the Kenya Kwanza camp yet he was opposed to the creation of more positions through BBI.
“Ruto has opposed BBI vehemently for the last five years. Today he is creating the same positions BBI was advocating for. He is not ashamed of himself. He told Kenyans that we do not need positions, today he is dishing out the same positions to Musalia and other people,” said Junet.
“UDA will produce DP Ruto as the President and as the Deputy President. If we look at the Kenya Kwanza line-up, it’s about positions and not about mama mboga or bodaboda people,” he added, accusing the DP of political conmanship.

He was referring to the leaked Kenya Kwanza agreement that seeks the creation of a Prime Cabinet Minister position which will apparently be assigned to ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
The post is on condition that he (Musalia) delivers 70 percent of the Luhya vote in the upcoming August 9 polls.
“That tells you the character we are dealing with; a hypocrite per standard…Now he is re-inventing BBI through the back door. Why didn’t he join the BBI train if he thought he needed the positions so much like he is doing.”
“Musalia, Wetangula, Kingi, and Mutua have been conned by DP. They are caught in the throes of an elaborate con game and ‘wash wash’ scheme. To tell Musalia and Wetangula to deliver 70% of Western Kenya to Ruto is a con, they can’t deliver that.”

While rallying support for Raila, the Azimio presidential candidate, the legislator who was flanked by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, stated that Azimio will not allow dishonest leaders to ascend to power.
The presidential flag bearer role is designated for Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, according to the Kenya Kwanza coalition agreement. Ruto’s running mate will likewise be from the United Democratic Alliance.
If Kenya Kwanza clinches the presidency, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula will take up the role of Speaker of the National Assembly.
Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) will get the position of Senate Speaker. Early this week, Governor Amason Kingi of Kilifi and Maendeleo Chap Chap of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
The agreement was filed with the Registrar of Political Parties on Sunday night, one day before the deadline for submitting party coalition pacts.
