Senior Gov’t Official Plotted to Assassinate Uhuru Twice – Stanley Livondo Alleges

Former Lang’ata Parliamentary aspirant Stanley Livondo has alleged plots to take out President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during the Homecoming ceremony of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Saturday, Livondo claimed there has been two attempts on Uhuru’s life.

According to the vocal politician, a senior government official tried to bring down two aircraft on which the head of state was aboard.

When the president learnt of the unnamed government official’s ploys, Livondo disclosed, he cut ties with them.

The politician claimed that the first instance was when President Kenyatta was flying from Kisumu to Nairobi and the second one was when he was headed to the United States through Dubai.

“If your friend who is so close to you like a brother attempts to crash a plane that you are on board more than twice, will you forgive him? In the first instance, President Uhuru was flying from Kisumu to Nairobi while on the second attempt he was headed to the United States through Dubai. The plane was forced to divert to Kenya because of the botched attempt to crash his plane,” he said.

In the second instance, his aircraft was turned around after navigation challenges caused by military activity in Yemen, the State House claimed back in 2015.

Then State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu, said the outgoing president left Nairobi on board his official Kenya Airforce aircraft destined for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where he was due to connect to a commercial flight to Los Angeles.

“Following reports of increased military activity in Yemen, there was a challenge on the routing leading to a decision to turn back. The President touched the ground at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 11.42 pm,” said Esipisu.

However, other reports indicated that the president’s aircraft may have developed mechanical problems mid-air.

Livondo urged the Mt Kenya people to unite ahead of the August 9 polls.
