Keroche CEO Tabitha Karanja Joins UDA As she Eyes Nakuru Senate Seat

Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja has joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Karanja made the move during a rally hosted by Deputy President William Ruto, Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and his FORD Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula.

The businesswoman will be vying for the Nakuru senate seat.

During her maiden speech, the Keroche proprietor said the UDA economic model “Bottom-up” resonated with her.

“I want to be the next Nakuru Senator so that I can ensure that the laws we make at the top do not oppress you here on the ground… I have listened to you and I agree that the only vehicle I should use to get to the Senate to represent you is the UDA party,” said Karanja.

“I have also listened to the deputy president on the bottom-up economic model. I have practiced it for the last 25 years. I’m the practical example of bottom-up economic model.”

She urged the DP to make creating a fair playing field and a business-friendly atmosphere a top priority should he win the presidency.

Karanja also pressed the DP to address the issue of high taxes and fully assist local businesses through the buy-Kenya-build-Kenya plan.

“With those three, money will be in Kenyans’ pockets and we will have no problem,” she added.

Welcoming her to the fold, the DP lauded her saying that despite her poor beginnings, she had set an example of the bottom-up economic paradigm by establishing a large industry.
