Wajackoyah Names Omar Lali National Coordinator Of Beach Boys

Roots Party presidential candidate Prof George Wajackoyah has named Omar Lali the Beach Boys Association Coordinator.

The announcement of the appointment was made on Facebook on Friday by Wajackoyah’s running mate Justina Wamae.

Wamae said that despite playing a significant role in Kenya’s economy and possessing a sizable number of votes that may tip an election in any candidate’s favor, beach boys are frequently disregarded when new administrations are formed.

“Beach boys spur up the tourism economy as they are guides offering lengthy tours of the coastline and the marine parks. Others sell African souvenirs such as Khangas, Maasai sandals and beadwork. Some of these traders display their wares along the sandy stretch,” she said.

“Lali brings the beach boys vote who are many at times ignored in Kenya’s development agenda. Roots party looks forward to this strategic partnership.”

Lali shot to the limelight in 2020 following the death of Keroche Breweries heiress Tecra Muigai.

Tecra died on May 3 after an alleged fall in a house she shared with Lali.

It would later be claimed that the Beach Boy was responsible for her death, a claim he has vehemently denied.

He was arrested and charged with murder after police concluded that the death was not an accident.

However, Lali was released after murder charges against him were withdrawn by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji.

An inquest into the death of Tecra has been ongoing since last year.

Chief Government Pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor testified that the cause of her death might have not been a fall from the stairs as initially reported since the injuries on her head were not from a single impact.

“There were claims that she fell from a flight of stairs. However, there were skull fractures from her left temporal region to the base of the skull so the injuries were unlikely to have been caused by a single impact,” said Oduor.
