Wetangula Faults CS Wamalwa For Interfering in Ford-Kenya Affairs

Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has accused Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa of causing wrangles within his party.

The Bungoma senator fingered the CS for meddling with the party internal affairs.

Speaking after a two-day induction work- shop for the newly elected National Executive Council (NEC) at Elementaita Lodge in Nakuru County, Wetangula said Wamalwa was to blame for the recent defection from the party by a faction led by  Kanduyi Member of Parliament Wafula Wamunyinyi.

He alleged that the CS was contravening the law by politicking yet the Constitution prohibits the ministers from taking part in political activities.

“They are running around with one Eugene Wamalwa who against the legal principles and constitutional constraints has registered a political party that he is hawking around and they have settled on it as their new refuge,” said Wetangula.

Wamalwa had lauded the Wamunyinyi faction for ditching the party which he had earlier claimed to be dictatorial.

Last week, Wamunyinyi and Tongaren legislator Eseli Simiyu dumped the Wetangula-led outfit. They will be unveiling a new political vehicle on December 14.

“We have resolved we won’t be held ransom by the court. The elections are around the corner and these fights are not helpful,” said Wamunyinyi.

He added, “We urge our loyal members to join us. As you are all aware, we support the handshake and Azimio la Umoja.”
